Trivia:
'Bheema' is the first and the only film Harris Jayaraj scored for director Linguswamy.

A song was shot with 3000 junior artistes flown in from Mumbai.

Earlier Raghuvaran was selected to play an important role whereas Sherin was selected to perform an item number.

Nana Patekar was replaced by Prakashraj to play villain for this film.

There were rumours that Mammootty would act in an important role in the film but reports proved untrue.

Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone were considered at first to play the female lead but replaced by Trisha.

After "Ji", director Lingusamy announced his next project "Bheema" in 2005.

Vikram was impressed while watching this film and wanted to remake it in Tamil who then approached producer Mohan Natarajan to buy the remake rights of the film. The remake was tentatively titled "Bheema".

The film was actually planned as a remake of the 2005 Malayalam film "Chanthupottu" starring Dileep. But since Vikram's previous film "Majaa" which was a remake of the film "Thommanum Makkalum" bombed at the box office, he kept his plan on hold and a new script was made into a film under the planned title "Bheema".

Vikram trained his body for three months with the help of former Mr Tamil Nadu bodybuilding champion Rajendran for the part of Sekar so that he would look more like the physically strong character of "Bheema".

Vikram had no releases in years 2006 and 2007, since the film was still on shooting stage. The filming was finally completed in 2007.
