In a Sudanese village, a mother gives birth to Muzamil, a boy who was cursed by a Dervish prophecy that he will die at the age of 20. He grows up surrounded by the looks of sympathy until Suleiman returns from the city. Suleiman’s cinema projector opens up a window to a new world for Muzamil and he begins to doubt the prophecy. When his 20th birthday arrives, he is torn between death and a bus to the world he is eager to know about.
