When Ranga Rao approaches him in search of employment, Prabhakar Rao a wealthy businessman, mistakes him to be the son of a powerful landlord. He gives him work and treats him very well, as he wishes that the heir to such a great inheritance would marry his only daughter, Janaki
By the time they find out the truth, it is too late, both Ranga Rao and Janaki have fallen in love, and are soon married. With lots of hard work and dedication, Ranga Rao is able to build a small empire, and they too enjoy some wealth and prosperity.
Janaki gives birth to a son, Venu. Years pass, Janaki has passed away, and Ranga Rao is filled with regret that he did not spend much time with her, as he was busy accumulating wealth. Venu is in love with Sudha and does marry her. But then he too is caught up in making money, like his father.
However, unlike the infinitely patient Janaki, Sudha refuses to compromise with this situation, unless Venu changes his lifestyle, which he may not be willing to do. Will Venu and Sudha find a way to resolve the conflicts within their marriage or will they go their separate ways?
