Uyyale (1964)

Uyyale is a 1969 Kannada language film directed by N. Lakshminarayan and starring Rajkumar and Kalpana in the lead roles. The story is a Marital melodrama about a professor Shesha (Ashwath) who, engaged in his researches, neglects his domestic life. His indifference alienates his second wife Radha (Kalpana), especially when their daughter dies. The wife becomes attracted to the professor’s friend Krishna (Rajkumar) who eventually goes away to preserve the marriage of his friend. The film is a direct screen adaptation of the novel of the same name written by the acclaimed novelist Subramanyaraja Urs.
