Set in a futuristic, dystopian society, 20 years after the catastrophic Dark Wave damaged every faster-than-light crystal, leaving thousands of ships stranded and drifting. At this critical juncture in the history of the human race, a small salvage vessel arrives at a spaceship graveyard.
However, the crew soon discover that not everything on this Drift is dead, and as the objective changes from salvage to survival. And, to add to their woes, it emerges that one crew member has a secret agenda. Will the crew succeed in surviving and escaping the terrors of the drift?

The set for the main Drift ship was designed in sections that could be moved and reconfigured to create the different locations within the ship. There were over a dozen different set configurations.
This film is intended as an introduction to the Starlight universe. Further stories set in this universe are in development.
This film was a community project, with the aim of demonstrating the group's capability of producing a professional-looking feature film on an ultra-low budget. Those involved included professionals, media graduates and local volunteers, some of whom had no previous film-making experience. Everyone involved gave their time for free. Costs were funded by the members of Backyard Productions, assisted by a community grant from the Lincolnshire Co-operative.
In the Captain's photograph of Angelina and a young Daniel, the child pictured is actually Ben Shahin-Scales, younger brother of Luke Shahin-Scales who plays Daniel.
