Thai Meethu Sathiyam (1978)

Set against a rural background, this family-oriented drama revolves around the life of Babu, a goat-herd who loves his dog, Ramu like a sibling. He is in love with Sivagami and the couple wish to marry soon, with his parents' blessings. Babu's father works as a watchman at the home of a wealthy woman, and effectively protects her and their wealth from burglars. When Babu reaches home with grand ideas of celebrating his father's 60th birthday by conducting a lavish ceremony, he is shocked and heartbroken to find them both murdered in cold blood. Ramu, Babu's beloved dog is the only witness of these grisly murders, and Babu vows to exact revenge upon the culprits with its help.
