Trivia:
Arnold Schwarzenegger had a total of 700 words to speak as dialogues. One of cinema's most iconic dialogues 'Hasta La Vista, Baby' is spoken in this film and is said to have paid him 85,000 USD.

In the beginning, James Cameron decided to do the writing process that he would never show the adolescent John Connor toting a firearm. True to his word, the character never carries a weapon in the film.

Earlier Robert Patrick trained in a rigorous running regime in order to be able to appear to run at high speeds without showing fatigue on film.

The mini-gun used in the film was the original mini-gun that was used in 1987's Predator (1987) also starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This marks as the only sequel to win an Academy Award when the previous movie wasn't even nominated.
