Superman (1997)

Embedded with fast-paced action and charged emotion, this crime drama delves into the heroics and exploits of Harikrishnan, a criminal who has earned the nickname Superman (Jayaram). When Nithya (Shobana), the deputy commissioner of police is assigned a sensitive case, which is to investigate the corrupt practices of the Home Minister and his friend, Rajan Phillip (Cochin Haneefa),.a businessman, there is a lot of pressure placed upon her. Nithya lives with her Valliyachan (Janardhanan) since both her parents were killed in an accident, and leads a simple, happy existence in her personal life. Unbeknownst to her, she is assisted in her investigation by Superman, who harbours a vendetta against the Home Minister, and wishes to exact revenge upon him by helping Nithya expose his criminal deeds. In the whole process Superman uses Judiciary as his weapon, by providing vital evidence to Nithya. Fully aware of the Minister's clever tactics and immense power, Superman is at times forced to break the law himself in order to collect evidence exposing the corrupt practices. How will this straightforward Nithya's reaction when she comes to know that she is being helped by a criminal? Will this dynamic duo succeed in bringing to justice the powerful minister and his cohorts?
