Shakti (1983)

Mahadev is a greedy landlord who exploits farmers and six villages into giving up their land, by getting them to sign documents pledging their land for exorbitant amounts of interest.

Ram is the son of an ex-army officer, whose father lost everything after being cheated by Mahadev. Sita is a beautiful young woman, is father is postman, Deen Dayal. Ram and see a fall in love and get married despite Mahadev's best efforts to possess Sita. As Ram prospers in agriculture, Mahadev plots against him and sets for events that cause his death.

Two decades later, it is up to his son to free his people from Mahadev and avenge the injustice meted out against his family.
