Sattam (1983)

Evocative and action-oriented, this complex crime drama primarily centres around the powerful friendship between two childhood mates, Raja and Ravi. Raja grows up to be a brave CID inspector, while his best friend Ravi becomes an advocate, whose expertise is in finding loopholes in the law and setting powerful, wealthy criminals free. Despite their different choice of career, Raja and Ravi remain the best of friends and continue their passion for song and dance, that they learnt at the Pandanallur Chandravadha School of Dance. In his career in law enforcement, Raja becomes deeply involved in exposing the criminal activities of a notorious gang led by Ramesh, Michael Johnny and Catherine. Radha, a fashionable young, interior designer is the daughter of Pandanallur Chandravadha, and in an ominous twist of fate, both Raja and Ravi fall in love with her. As a further strain on their friendship, they end up clashing professionally as well. Ravi becomes the defence attorney for Ramesh and his gang members, while Raja is bent on exposing their criminal activities, capturing them and bringing them to justice. How will the clash between these two best friends pan out?
