Ruben Brandt, a famous psychotherapist, suffers from violent nightmares inspired by legendary works of art. He believes that owning them will put an end to the bad dreams. Four of his patients, expert thieves, offer to help him steal the works. As he and his band of thieves strike regularly and with great success, he soon earns the name "The Collector", becoming the most wanted criminal in the world.
