This family-oriented crime drama revolves around the life of Ranga (Rajinikanth) alias Ranganathan, who lost his sister Laksmi (K . R .Vijaya) in childhood. As an adult, he comes to the city searching for work is compatible with his educational qualifications.
After many struggles to find suitable work, he meets and befriends Raju (Karate Mani) who is a thief. Ranga tries to encourage Raju into giving up a life of crime and start leading an honest life, but the twists and turns in Ranga's own life leads him to lose his moral compass and become a stone-cold hitman.
Raju on the other hand, gravitates towards a better life and becomes the bodyguard for a young boy, Suresh, who is the son of Lakshmi, a wealthy woman, and unbeknownst to them all, Ranka's long lost sister.
Ranga becomes more and more violent, and is given a contract by Ganga to kidnap the young Suresh. With Raju protecting Suresh and Ranga are trying to kidnap him, their lives seem on collision course. How will this conflict be resolved?
