Kabir Kaul is a young retired Army officer who returns to Kashmir to teach in his late father's school. To his dismay, he discovers that the school is in a miserable condition, lacking even the basic amenities and it has a handful of students. Things take a turn when one day Kabir finds a notebook, left behind by the previous year's teacher Firdaus. In the notebook, Firdous has penned her most intimate thoughts. He falls in love without ever having known or met her.
