'Moonwalk One' explores the events that took place in Apollo 11 Moon mission. The original documentary which was extremely long had failed to gain the interest of the distributors, the NASA had re-edited the movie by cutting back 15 minutes of the film and had re-screened the movie at the Cannes film festival which grabbed the movie an award and special attention as it was described as a "sleeper". The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York began a new film series called "New American Directors", in which 'Moonwalk One' was kept as the first program and it was subsequently picked up theaters nationally for it's special coverage of the mission.
