Mark Richard Hamill is an American stage, screen and voice actor. He is famously known for his character in the Star Wars film series and to a lesser degree for his voice-over work in animations and video games as the Joker, beginning with Batman: The Animated Series in 1992. He has acted in several theater productions. His early career included a recurring role on the soap opera General Hospital and a starring role on the short-lived sitcom The Texas Wheelers. He has gained a reputation as a prolific voice actor. In December 2017, Hamill became an affiliate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, having had an interest in the science since childhood.
