Manithan (1987)

Raw and gritty, this emotionally charged social drama follows the struggles and successes in the life of Raja, a bold young man. In a fit of anger, Raja assaults his teacher, by hitting him over the head with a paperweight for accusing him of being a thief. Even though his anger may have been valid, Raja is placed in a juvenile prison for his act of rage. When he is set free after his incarceration, he joins the People Welfare Organization in a local community and helps the impoverished and needy. His fearless ways and tendency to stand up against injustice and exploitation, earn him many enemies. But Raja is undeterred. Can he continue as a crusader for justice against all odds?
