Mostly post apocalyptic movies are overdosed with gore violence and unnecessary nudity with over acting actors, which eventually looks like a B grade movies. George Miller a veteran filmmaker who earlier gave movies of this genre proved again that he is the master of this genre. If someone could create art with junk that would be George. He did a fantastic job in putting together the ugliness in it’s beautiful format.

Mad Max Fury Road is movie which does not have something called a dull moment, right from 1st frame till the credits it runs like the Road Runner from ACME. It makes you wonder how these people could come up with scripts of this sort which convinces you without a problem, this movie more than the script. They way it has been conceptualized in terms of set design, building wagons which puts the big foot to shame, make-up, costume design, styling…..the list goes on they have so much in the movie before you could ponder on few the movie is over at godspeed.

The main USP of the movie is the casting which was well picked with right attitude. Charlize Theron was off screens for quite sometime and she made a great appearance on screen after a while. As “Furiosa“she brings out the wrath in it’s full form. Tom Hardy is vaguely wicked, rustic, and hits hard as Mad Max, he’s got that brass which a character like this requires and carried it with elan. Nicholas Hoult as Nux may seem like a dufus in the beginning, but he brings a great amount of character as the movie travels. Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe makes a commendable villain. Just when you bask in these characters you are hit with the “Granny Gang“, they are kick ass and put the boys to shame. There’s one character who just hang on to the straps playing guitar and that is something no one could have thought of, all these characters put together makes Mad Max what it is.

The action choreography was way beyond imagination, few scenes throw you off the seats with that life like 3D effect, there are sequences which will be trendsetting for upcoming action flicks. It does definitely take the action to the next level, with death defying stunts. This high octane action was well tracked with wicked soundtrack by Junkie XL. The cinematography was astounding by John Seale, he gave the desert a whole new goth look. The editing was edgy and had sharp cuts.

Mad Max Fury Road….has over the top action involving eccentric characters with visionary designs, makes a point that blockbusters can be more than art and this uniqueness makes it more than a action movie with remarkable narration and a great action movie of our period, get your dose of adrenaline at a cinema near you before they run out of it!!!

Trivia:
Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult had worked together in Dark Places which had released in 2015.

According to George Miller the film's storyboard was made even before the screenplay, and was made with the collaboration of five artists and had about 3,500 panels.

During the project's hiatus between 2003 and 2009, George Miller considered making the film as a 3D animated feature.

Over 80% of the effects seen in the film are real practical effects, stunts, make-up and sets. CGI was used sparingly mainly to enhance the Namibian landscape, remove stunt rigging and for Charlize Theron's left hand which in the film is a prosthetic arm.

The movie was originally intended to star Mel Gibson in the title role back in 2003 but because George Miller ran into problems with shooting locations, and Gibson's interest in his 'The Passion Of The Christ project', the project never really materialized.

Jeremy Renner had campaigned for the role of Mad Max.

Sam Worthington stated that like Eric Bana, he has never been approached for the role of Mad Max, despite widespread rumors that circulated the web following the film's announcement.

The movie was almost filmed in 2003 on location in Namibia but the project was put on hold due to security concerns related to trying to film in Namibia.

Charlize Theron reportedly shaved her head for the role of Furiosa and as a result had to wear a wig for her role in 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'.

Liam Fountain had auditioned for Mad Max, but didn't get the part however he played the role in 2011 short film "Mad Max: Renegade", which took place between "Mad Max" and "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior".

The film is not a prequel, it is a direct sequel which takes place somewhere between "Mad Max" and "The Road Warrior".

Courtney Eaton replaced Adelaide Clemens due scheduling conflicts.

This will be the 2nd movie where Nicholas Hoult and Charlize Theron share the screen together, The first movie being Dark Places.

Teresa Palmer was originally cast but due to delays of the production, she dropped out and was replaced by Abbey Lee.

Australian showbiz legend Bert Newton was one of the first character actors cast by director George Miller when the movie was to be filmed in Broken Hill.

First 'Mad Max' movie after a gap of twenty-six years since Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome released in 1985.

Liam Fountain had auditioned for Max, but lost the part to Tom Hardy. Liam Fountain played Max in the 2011 short film "Mad Max Renegade".

It was originally rumored that Mel Gibson would have a cameo role as a drifter.

It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.
