Synopsis; The Soil and its People A pitiful real story of how superstition and blind faith can create havoc on society and individual. The story revolves around an young village girl, daughter of a school master. She is viewed as inauspicious for being dumb and born in the dark night. Overtime, spearheaded by superstitious Hindu religious fundamentalists, she gets dubbed as a witch and blamed for every misfortune that befalls on the villagers. Slowly the fundamentalists begin to tighten their grip on her and her parents. Eventually she is forced to live out of society. Socio- religious terror of brutality is unleashed as the opportunistic politicians join hands with the untruth. The Which girl is killed brutally by the uncivilized barbarism of the system exists in the society even today.
