A year after Joy Mukherji's death, 'Love in Bombay' was discovered by his sons. This digitally restored movie, 'Love in Bombay' is late actor-director Joy Mukherji’s unreleased movie from 1974.
This romantic comedy is a sequel to the 'Love In..' series following 'Love in Simla' (1960) and 'Love in Tokyo' (1966). To mark a tribute to yesteryear actors, and to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema, this movie has been digitally restored.
Mukherji plays the role of a simpleton, Badal, who loses his heart to Waheeda Rehman’s role of an urban sophisticated girl, on board a cruise liner.
The movie tells the romantic tale of how they get marooned on an island, eventually get washed up on to the Mumbai shores and find love and comfort in each other.
