Revealing Mistakes
During the party scene where Jacob meets Sam and is receiving texts from Anna, the date of her first text is December 1st. The second text, received moments later is dated May 23rd.

Errors in Geography
A few scenes are set in an apartment in the UK. However, an American light switch is seen, and an iPhone using the AT&T network, revealing that the scene was actually shot in the US.

Continuity
When Jacob is sending a text message to Sam in Anna's kitchen, upon being questioned who he is "texting", he sets his phone down in front of the laptop computer on the table and leaves the room. In the next shot, Anna goes to browse his text messages, and the phone has changed its position to the side of the computer instead. A text on Anna receives from Jacob reads as, "That's great congrats :)" when she tells him about her promotion. When we see Jacob's phone, we see the text he sent says, "That's great news Congrats :)"
Trivia:
This contemporary romantic drama premiered on January 22, 2011 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the festival's Grand Jury Prize.

The director, Drake Doremus based the storyline of this film partly on his own long-distance relationship with a woman living in London while he lived in Los Angeles.

At the Toronto International Film Festival (2011), the director admitted that much of the movie was improvised. The script outlined what would happen, but Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin improvised much of their dialogue.

Director Drake Doremus viewed a rough cut of this film to his former students at the Orange County High School of the Arts before submitting it to the Sundance Film Festival.

Writers Drake Doremus and Ben York Jones looked back at some of the long distance relationships they had been in for the inspiration of this film.
