Letters from Iwo Jima (2007)

Ken Watanabe (Inception, The Last Samurai) stars as General Tadamichi Kuribayashi who leads a group of Japanese soldiers in the island of Iwo Jima during World War II. In an effort to keep the Americans at bay, The Imperial army adopts a strict regime that leads to backlash. The film follows Kuribayashi and Saigo, a young soldier, as the American Invasion begins in Iwo Jima.
