Kajoger Nouka (translated as paperboat) is a beautiful story of struggle, hope and entrepreneurship directed by Shekhar Sarkar. The story is a love triangle between Lati, a traditional Indian girl who dreams of making a successful incense factory and her lover, Mahi, who is an educated unemployed youngman turned bandit and another educated youngman, Palash who is struggling to earn a living in Kolkata and is in love with Lati.Mahi gets caught during robbery and the angry village mob kills Mahi.Palash discovers Mahi's bag and diary after Mahi's death and had a shock when he realises that Mahi was a qualified university graduate............. Palash makes a paperboat with Mahi's graduation certificate which keeps floating incessantly in the village river. The story depicts the harsh reality of unemployment and poverty of lower middle class Bengalees who are educated but sometimes obliged to earn by any means to support themselves and their families.Nevertheless, the hope is there in the eyes of Lati where the film finishes giving hints that Lati makes her own incense factory one day despite all the struggle.
