Trivia:
In order to accommodate dinosaurs and humans in the same frame, Steven Spielberg had used the height offered by the 1.85:1 aspect ratio, the cinematic standard closest to 1.78:1 modern television screens.

Spielberg was pleased with using the aspect ratio of 1.85:1, as it allows directors and cinematographers more room to play, while they were able to use the sizable frame as if it were 2.39, 1.37:1 Academy ratio or even a circle.

Two hundred fifty gallons of oatmeal was used to simulate Spinosaur droppings.

The film's animatronic Spinosaurus reportedly had a one thousand-horsepower motor and that creature could turn its head at twice the force of gravity with the tip of its nose moving at a speed of more than one hundred miles per hour.
