Kibitz, who dreams of working for children welfare, is torn between adopting a child and being a spouse. She learns from an artist and philosopher that village children living in one room with their whole families, sometimes witness their parents having sex in the dark. They are traumatized. A photographer falls in love with Kibitz, but she is already engaged. When her cousins wife dies, Jabot takes care of the little orphan Pa rash, who rediscovers his mother in Kibitz. Kibitz marries and moves away, Pa rash is heart-broken. She soon discovers that she is unable to bear children, Kibitz returns to her parents and to Pa rash. The photographer approaches her again but so does her husband.
