Monáe's music has garnered her six Grammy Award nominations.
Born in Kansas City, Monae has always dreamed of being a singer and a performer from a very young age.During the year 2008 her EP was re-titled as 'Metropolis: The Chase Suite' and had garnered Grammy nomination at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.
Janelle made her movie debut in 2016 as one of the main leads in the movie Moonlight and Hidden Figures, both of which were nominated for The Academy Awards under the best picture category.
