Idolle Ramayana (2016)

Evocative and provocative, this socially relevant saga is set on the eve of Ram Navami a celebrated Hindu religious festival and explores many concepts through the trials in the life of four people from varied backgrounds and having varied dreams for the future.

The central characters are: Bhujangaiah, a Dubai returned businessman, who dreams of living life on his own terms; Susheela, an escort to whom money means everything; an auto rickshaw driver who dreams of relocating to Dubai and earning in foreign currency; Garuda, an aspiring movie director, who is obsessed with completing his dream movie.

The lives of these seemingly disconnected people becomes intricately interwoven as their paths cross and events unfold to take them on a journey where their emotions get better of them forcing them to face the consequences of their actions. What lessons will life teach them, that mirror the teachings of the Ramayana? Will they realise the error of their ways and seek redemption?
