Trivia:
The name of the film is a reference to an actual bridge which connects Howrah to Kolkata over the Hooghly River.

The song "Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu" was re-used in the film "Salaam Bombay!".

In Karan Johar's Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai (1998), just before the song Koi Mil Gaya, there is an intertextual reference to the song "Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu"
