Hero (1984)

This fast-paced action adventure traces the twists and turns in the life of Krishna, a fearless archaeologist, who travels to a village in search of a map containing directions to hidden treasure. It turns out that Vikram, Krishna's good friend was murdered in the village, when he had come in search of the map.

One day during his work, he saves Kanakaraju and three other villagers from definite death. They become his loyal friends and treat him as their philosopher and guide.

Meanwhile Radhika, a village belle, falls in love with him and forces him to marry her. When Krishna refuses, she successfully acts as if she had been raped by him and convinces the villagers of Krishna's crime.

Krishna later learns that Kanakaraju is in fact Kondababu, Vikram's killer. How will Krishna avenge his friend's murder? Will he succeed in finding the map and treasure it holds directions to?
