Evocative and eloquent, this thought-provoking fable follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Jude, a miserly old man who causes suffering and strife to everyone around him because of his selfish and greedy nature.
One of the several people Jude has treated terribly is Lazarus, a sincere young man who desperately seeks to exact revenge upon Jude for his unjust acts. Finally when Jude dies, his own family heaves a sigh of relief and anticipates that finally their suffering would end, but they have once more underestimated Jude's cunning.
To their shock it turns out that Jude has written a Will which says that if he dies before the age of 100 years, his family will get no money or property. So they hurry to see the dead Jude in the hospital, hoping that he might be alive. What will the future hold in store for Jude, his family and Lazarus?
