Gorintaku (1979)

Evocative and provocative, this socially relevant relationship drama follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Ramu, an intelligent and capable youngster. As a boy, he has an extremely troubled childhood, as his father is an alcoholic, who accidentally beats his daughter to death.

Unable to bear the abusive environment, Ramu escape from home, continues his education on scholarship and joins medical school. At college he meets Swapna (Sujatha) and becomes friendly with her. He begins to live in the guest accommodation behind her house, and tutors her siblings.

A complex sequence of events that unfold force Swapna to marry Anand, a non-resident Indian, who turns out to be previously married. By the time this truth is revealed and Swapna returns, Ramu meets and falls in love with Padma (Vakkalanka Padma). How will the consequent love triangle be resolved?
