Witty and wise, this endearing tale regales the adventures of four old men who routinely play dominoes in a cantina in Mexico City. One of them, Pedro (Pedro Weber 'Chatanuga') lets them know that he is evicted and tells them that after his death they bring Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, his most precious relic: a napkin signed by the singer and composer of rancheras José Alfredo Jiménez.
In order to fulfill their dying friend's last wish, the other three friends, Emiliano (José Carlos Ruiz), Benito (Eduardo Manzano) and Agustín (Luis Bayardo) undertake the trip at the expense of the risks of their age and, in the case of the last two, behind their children's backs. On the way, they experience different funny situations, as well as encounters with peculiar characters.
