Set against a rural backdrop, this social drama revolves around Araamudhu, a talented young entrepreneur from an impoverished background. When the local landlord, the egotistical Manickam decides to have a temple festival with a full month of celebration and performances including dramatic plays, Araamudhu and his friend Sabapathy, request to be given the contract for the sound equipment during the temple festival. However, Manickam treats them badly and rejects the offer. The drama troupe that is hired to entertain the villagers during the temple festival comprises of the director,Dorai, Mani and his beautiful, young daughter Meena, who stays away from acting. Dorai's troupe also has some talented actors and crew. Despite being ever cheerful and enterprising, Araamudhu grew up with great difficulty after his parents tragically passed away when he was just six years of age. While his relationship with Meena begins with fun and flirtation, soon, a strong bond develops between them when Araamudhu comes to Meena's aid during a tough period. What challenges with the young couple face to their relationship? Will they succeed in uniting in the holy bond of matrimony, against all odds?
