Where did you watch this movie?

'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' is a joyous celebration of all things Indian – our culture, traditions, rituals, beliefs, ideology – and basically, our entire way of life. It is also a youthful romance that depicts how far children can go for the love, approval and blessings of their elders. This romantic drama primarily revolves around Raj and Simran. Raj is rich, carefree, happy-go-lucky second generation NRI. Simran is the daughter of Chaudhary Baldev Singh, who in spite of being an NRI is very strict about adherence to Indian values. The two meet on a month long Eurotrip, and what began as pranks and fun and games, ends in love. But by the time they realize it, it is already too late, as Simran has left for India to be married to her childhood fiance. Raj leaves for India with a mission at his hands, to claim his lady love under the noses of her whole family. Thus begins a saga of love...

Trivia:
In 2001, the film overtook Sholay (1975) as the longest-running film in Indian cinema.

The film's theatrical release lasted a whopping 600 weeks - more than 11 years - a world record.

Director Aditya Chopra did not tell Kajol what was going to happen when Shah Rukh Khan drops her at the end of "Ruk Jaa O Dil Deewane", so that her reaction would be genuine.

Tom Cruise was considered for the role of Raj Malhotra.

The film's title was suggested by Kiron Kher, Anupam Kher's wife.
