Dhanayathra (2016)

Evocative and provocative, this socially relevant saga follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Vijila, an intelligent and capable woman. When her father passes away leaving the family drowning in debt, Vijila is forced to shoulder the responsibility of caring for her two siblings, while also trying to pay back all her father's outstanding loans.

She works hard as a nursery teacher and an insurance agent, making several sacrifices to ensure that she fulfils her family's needs. At a critical juncture, she receives support and encouragement from Devarajan, a local business tycoon, who assists her financially and promotes her to the higher echelons in his company.

Just when Vijila seems to be sailing towards success, misfortune strikes once more as Vijila is betrayed by Devarajan and forced to go behind bars. How will she fight back?
