Realistic and revealing, this multi-layered drama follows events unfolding at Europe, a reputed hotel in Sarajevo.
For the centennial anniversary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, an attack that triggered World War I, the hotel is anticipating a visit from an important dignitary, Mr Jacques, a special French guest.
The manager is given the task of making all the preparations required to welcome Mr Jacques and must find a way to motivate and get work done from disgruntled workers in the kitchen, who are preparing for a strike because they have spent months without pay.
Meanwhile, the regular guests have their needs that must be met and a journalist is in the process of recording a television show on the roof of the hotel. Can the manager keep things together long enough to satisfy Mr Jacques? What will the future hold in store for the hotel and its employees?
