This poignant socially relevant drama revolves around the life of Thamizh (Dinesh), a visually impaired person, who manages to feed his stomach by selling torches in the trains along with his clan. He meets Sudhanthira kodi (Malavika Nair), a vivacious young lady undergoing training to become a teacher. After a tempestuous beginning, the couple fall deeply in love with each other, even narrating their love story to a journalist from a Tamil magazine.
However, there is a twist in the tale because Kodi's brother has other plans for her. He plans to sacrifice Kodi by forcing her to marry his friend, in return for his financial assistance provided to the family. When the husband-to-be discovers her feelings for Thamizh, things turn ugly, and he demands the immediate return of the funds he had loaned to the family.
Thamizh, who has to take the responsibility of returning the loan, struggles hard to arrange the funds, but finally succeeds. On the way to meet Kodi's brother and his friend.he meets with an accident and is admitted in a hospital. After a month or so, he recovers and finds that Kodi has left the city without informing anyone.
Serendipitously, Thamizh meets with the journalist from the Tamil magazine in a railway station and he shares with him the disappearance of Kodi. The writer publishes their story in his magazine. After some days he gets a call from a follower of his magazine who informs him that Kodi is in Mumbai, who conveys this message to Thamizh. He instantly catches a train to Mumbai. Will he succeed in finding Kodi and reunite with her?
