Trivia:
Based on a global bestseller, follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu

Crazy Rich Asians is the most successful studio rom-com in nearly a decade.

"Crazy Rich Asians" is Henry Golding's first movie. He turned down to audition for the role several times as he did not think he was good enough for the part. It was not until the director, Jon Chu, reached out to him via a mutual Facebook friend was he finally convinced to do the part.

Awkwafina initially supposed to wear several different wigs throughout the movie, but after putting on the blonde wig it was decided to scrap other wigs and just keep the one.

Awkwafina was called "Asian Ellen" by Ken Jeong because of the blonde wig.

Netflix wanted to produce the film and offered a much bigger budget, but Kevin Kwan deliberately turned down the offer.

The second part of the movie has been confirmed and will be based on the second book of the trilogy, "China Rich Girlfriend".

Dissatisfied with the mock-up ring, the director gave a ring from her personal collection which eventually became the emerald and diamond ring Eleanor wears in the movie.

Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding and Ronny Chieng are natives of Malaysia.

That amazing 3-tower hotel featured in the movie is a real one and is called the Marina Bay Sands. It is known for having the world's largest rooftop infinity pool.

Janice Chua is the one who suggested all of the filming locations to the filmmakers. She also wrote several Hokkien dialect lines in the script.

Calvin Wong originally auditioned for the part of Bernard. Although he lost out to Jimmy O Yang, he was given the lesser role of PT instead.

Henry Golding had to cut his honeymoon short after the studio required him and Constance Wu to fly out for a screen test.
