Bridges of Hope brings to light the issues faced by the MSM and TG communities in India with emphasis on their health issues and need to set up interventions for control of HIV. The film brings forth the voices from the community and makes an effort to educate and sensitize health care providers on issues of homosexuality
The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) entered its third phase in April 2007 and aims to start 230 projects with MSM and TG community to combat the epidemic. This film highlights the high risk and vulnerability of the community and efforts of NACO showing its commitment to marginalized communities.
In one of the first films to give a pan-national voice to the plight of gay/transgender communities, the films spans across 7 cities in north, east, west and south of India. In frank and candid interviews from the LGBT community the film brings us face-to-face with their dilemmas - both in terms of the stigma they face from the society and lack of healthcare, specially for the gay and transgender communities. The film also highlights the work done by several community based organizations to provide safe space for them.
