Bouma (2019)

Bouma’ is about a middle-aged couple, living their mundane lives in Kolkata. The husband drinks and smokes and does whatever he likes, but wants his wife to be extremely pious and subservient. When he is diagnosed with cancer, a scientist friend begs him to donate his organs for research which he flatly declines. The wife agrees to do so after his death. On seeing her husband’s brain connected with eyes in the lab, she realises they can still register everything. She takes it home. What she does with it makes for a climax which is both funny and dark.
