As elections begin in Bobbili village, Sundaraiyah (Gummadi) and Rajeswari Devi (Vanisree) emerge as powerful opponents. Sundaraiyah's capable younger brother Suryam assists him in ensuring that Rajeshwari Devi and her brother's deceptive tactics and immoral strategies are defeated.
Suryam is in love with Rajalakshmi, Sundaraiyah's daughter and when she gets pregnant, Rajeshwari Devi uses this opportunity to publicly humiliate and discredit Sundaraiyah, has Suryam murdered and successfully frames Sundaraiyah and Rajalakshmi for the crime. Somehow, they escape prison and begin living in the forest.
Twenty-five years later, the fetus that Rajalakshmi was pregnant with, grows into a handsome and fearless young man Raja, who has lived all his life in the jungle. Rajeshwari Devi has become ever more powerful and wealthy. Her daughter, Rani grows up in the lap of luxury and is headstrong and arrogant.
On a fateful occasion, she travels to Raja's forest with an entourage, and he becomes her guide. The two of them keep bickering, get disconnected from the group, become involved in some adventurous situations and eventually fall deeply in love with each other.
Meanwhile, Rajeswari Devi arrives to forest in search of Rani, and during the search and rescue operation, she learns that Raja is none other than the grandson of her bitter rival, Sundaraiyah. When she threatens them with dire consequences, Rajalakshmi calmly challenges Rajeshwari Devi that her son would honourably win the hand of her daughter, against all odds.
Rajeshwari Devi forcibly separates Rani from Raja and takes her back to Bobbili. Rajalakshmi reveals to Raja the entire truth about his past and encourages him to avenge his father's unjust death and bring Rani back. Pitted against Rajeshwari Devi's immense power, Raja soon finds himself facing incredible odds. Will he succeed in unravelling past secrets and expose the truth? Can he fulfill his mother's challenge and bring Rani back honourably?
