Trivia:
Unlike most Indian movies, the song and dance does not occur randomly; instead it is an integral part of the story-line, which involves a poet and singer as well as poetry competitions that were once common.

The film was particularly popular for its Qawwali songs and was one of the biggest box office hits of the year.

"Rum Is Meh Lover" by Ravi B & Karma is a cover version of "Akela Hoon Main".
