Set against the backdrop of a state prison, this socially relevant saga revolves around Shrikant Jamdade (Shinde), the chief jailer of the prison.
His strict and uncompromising belief in the system of law undergoes a change of heart, when he comes across an inmate, Mahipat (Shende), who has been imprisoned for the murder of his wife.
He is not a career criminal, but is facing punishment for a terrible crime that he committed in a moment of incredible rage. Despite the crime, Mahipat is a kind man, and a good father, who is desperate to meet his daughter Sonali (More).
Worried by the behaviour of his own son, Jamdade connects with the issue and feels that even the inmates in a correctional facility need to be in touch with their families. He begins to institute fundamental changes in the system, that would help convicts reconnect with their families and slowly become reintegrated into mainstream society in a more peaceful and permanent manner.
He identifies a group of inmates and goes to work with the help of a social worker (Kadam). Will the prisoners become rehabilitated?
