Appu (1990)

Fast-paced and fiery, this suspenseful thriller daringly depicts the twists and turns in the life of Appukuttan, an honest and sincere orphan from an impoverished background. However, with his hard work and intelligence, his life seems to be full of possibilities, especially with the entry of Sarojini into his life. Just as the young couple seem to be geared towards marriage and a happy family life, there is a terrible twist in the tale when Appu is suspected of rape and murder. The victim, Sugandhi, a dancer in Alamelu'sperforming arts troupe was found raped and murdered. Now it is up to Appu and his friends Chandikunju and lawyer Prabhakaran, to investigate into the heinous crime, identify the real culprits and prove Appu's innocence.
