Amudhey (2005)

This offbeat relationship drama revolves around Nancy (Madhumati), a headstrong and vivacious software engineer, who is the only breadwinner in her family. She is deeply in love with Dinakar (Jai Akash), a quiet and accommodating young man, who is her neighbour.

Complications emerge when their respective parents reject their wishes and force them into a marriage that is in accordance with their choice and societal norms. Dinakar's parents want him to wed his aunt's daughter Vinaya (Uma) while Nancy's parents want her to accept the wedding proposal from Victor (Prakashraj), a globetrotting businessman based in Bombay.

Caught between their parents lives and their love for each other, Nancy and Dinakar come up with a plan. They decide to marry the person of their families' choice, but then convince their spouses to divorce them and return to each other. Will they be successful in implementing their plan? How will their love story unfold?
