James has a dark past, but now he is trying with all his might to change his life, as he meets a beautiful girl, gets a job as an auto mechanic, dreams of owning his own business. Meanwhile, his older brother, Frankie, who served ten years in prison, is released. Frankie is trying to improve relations, but James is unable to forgive his brother for the fact that many years ago, Frankie was responsible for the crime for which James spent sixteen months. However, Frankie attempts to start a new life encounters many obstacles, and James' lack of trust and support doesn't help. Frankie's criminal past follows him like a dark shadow, making it impossible for him to get a good job, leave alone trust and respect in society, leading to frustration and desperation. As a consequence, Frankie offers James to "conduct a little business." He swears it's the last time and after one small, final bank robbery in New Orleans, they will both have the money to lead the kind of lifestyle they both dream to have. The crux of the tale depicts how this last "little business" ends up becoming one of the most dramatic and bloody attacks in American history.
