Ahuti (1941)

This emotionally charged drama traces the trials and triumphs in the life of Uday, the only son of loving parents. In a tragic event, while travelling by boat, Uday's mother falls into the river and when his father jumps in to rescue her, both of them are lost and presumed dead.

A caring fisherwoman informally adopts Uday and gives him a happy life. Uday has a close group of friends in Batasi, Bhola, Ekkori. Ekkori is the son of a money lender of that village. Bhola likes Uday. Batasi, a beautiful young girl is Uday's best friend. In the next couple of decades Uday and his friends grow up into successful adults. However the question remains, did Uday's parents really die? Will Uday and his friends remain united always or will life separate them? How will their respective futures pan out?
