Ria reaches out to the seemingly protective Aryan, and they end up falling in love with each other. Aryan showers Ria with a lot of love and she begins to see in him her ideal life partner. Ria invites Aryan to dinner at her home and introduces him to her parents. Her mother immediately approves of him but her father thinks that something is amiss and tells Ria to stop meeting Aryan. However, Aryan is madly in love with Ria and refuses to leave her. When Ria disobeys him, her father decides to dig deeper into Aryan's past. Trivia:
The film is inspired by the American movie Fear (1996).

Vikram wrote the film based on his relationship with his daughter who was separated from him because of his divorce.

Amitabh Bachchan only committed to the film because of his relationship with the former producer Sujit Kumar. The movie was almost shelved due to Sujit Kumar's financial difficulties, but was revived when Cutting Edge Entertainment got involved.
