During one of Shivayya's spiritual discourses, a murder takes place. A wealthy and powerful man murders his wife, who was having an extramarital affair. Shivayya is asked to lie in the witness stand during the court case. When he refuses and states the complete truth while under oath, the powerful murderer manipulates evidence, blames Shivayya for being an accomplice in the murder and has him convicted of a crime he did not commit. Unable to bear this injustice, Shivayya passes away of a broken heart. Abhimanyu and his mother are left to fend for themselves.
Deeply affected by the injustice endured by his father, and under pressure to care for his mother Abhimanyu becomes completely unethical and willing to lie, bend the rules or do anything for profit. in fact, he makes it his profession to lie on the witness stand for personal gain.
